Song Thrush – Textile Hanging on Black Velvet  

Shaped like a church window, this decorative hanging features my quirky song thrush embroidery design surrounded by a leafy textile collage. The richly textured black velvet background provides a deep, dramatic contrast that enhances the design, inspired by the historical collage work of 18th‑century artist Mary Delaney.  

A continuous running stitch in lustrous rayon silk frames the piece, adding sheen and definition. Finished with a hanging loop, it can be displayed with ease or placed in a box frame for a more formal presentation. Measuring approximately 15.5cm x 12cm, this artwork should be hung away from direct sunlight and gently dusted with a soft brush to preserve its detail.

Presented attached to mount board with nano tape for easy removal.
